About Me

- Name: Jenifer Selwa
- Location: Newaygo, Michigan, United States
I became interested in photography when my grandmother gave me a camera for my birthday at nine years old. When I graduated from high school, I took my graduation money and bought my first SLR, a manual Minolta camera with two lenses. I love to work with people, so I started in wedding and family photographs and then became passionate about lighthouses and landscape photography in 1991 during a visit to the National Coast Guard Festival in Grand Haven, Michigan. In 1994, I bought my first Harbour Light collectible piece and since that time, I have visited and photographed over 100 lighthouses in the Great Lakes region, and many in California and the Pacific Northwest. My proximity of being no more than a two hour drive to eight different Lake Michigan lighthouses, along with a four-season state, has given me tremendous photography opportunities that can only be provided by a higher power. I have made many trips to specifically photograph lighthouses not only because I love them, but to capture the beauty and grace in such a timeless romanticism that only a lighthouse can carry.
